I believe there is not a World version. There is only store, MC, and Plus MC...no world that Im aware of.

Could you post a copy of the email, blurring out the personal stuff like name, etc.. so we can see the email, and what it says? It would be interesting if they have a world version that no one knows about...

Got my email too... Said congratulations your MC is being upgraded to a world MC and will ship new cards in March 2018. From Sync. Hope they do it with the others as well😎

This is very interesting... I've not yet received an email, but if I do I'll post an image of it.

Since the benefits for WMC are negligible (if any) for most people I guess Synchrony might be trying to cash in on higher swipe fees?

Just got one of those emails too. I am always leary of a large company of saying they are doing me a favor.

The link in your email www.samsclubworldmastercard.com doesn't go to a page for me (on Firefox) but downloads a .pdf with what appears to be the usual WMC bennies. I had forgotten that ShopRunner is now offered with WMC; that is mentioned in the guide as well... good stuff!

Still no email for me, but in any case this will be a neat upgrade assuming I eventually get it!

I also received the email last night stating that I was being upgraded to the World Mastercard in March 2018. Not sure if I will use the benefits - but we shall see! Would like to see a CL increase as well...

Got the email as well. Chase also upgraded my old Freedom (10 YO account) to a Visa Signature recently, completely unsolicited by me. This was less than a couple months after I already activated a new card (previous one expired). Might be something to the swipe fees theory that was mentioned in this thread.
