The card I'm longing for today is...

...the Chase Freedom. Between that and my Discover (eventually!) I'd like to have a lot of 5% cash back options (that hopefully won't overlap!). Sadly, that pesky 5/24 rule gets between me and my future card relationship. What card do you long for? Why? What's standing in the way?

If you have a relationship with Chase already, go into a branch every month and ask a personal banker if you have any preapprovals. In-branch preapprovals may overcome the 5/24 rule.

The cards I am patiently waiting on are:

Amex BCP -- 6% on groceries up to $6000/year = $360 cash back. I currently get a whopping 2% from Discover on groceries but that ends in February, so this would mean $240 cash back more a year for sure.
Chase CSP/CSR -- prefer the CSR of course. I do a ton of travel for pleasure, and a lot of travel expenses. My travel agent even books my sailboat rentals and her agency categorizes as travel so I think I could earn more rewards with the CSP/CSR. I have the Freedom Unlimited and it's kinda useless at 1.5% (matches Capital One QS/QS1) but I bank those Chase points to someday possibly redeem them with CSP/CSR at 1.875 or 2.25 -- if that ever happens, lol.
US Bank -- just want to get in the door, thinking of leaving the garden now to get the prequalified Cash+ just to get in, but I'd like their travel card in case Chase doesn't want me with them. Could have used the Cash+ last quarter as I spent almost $2000 on clothing at a store that would likely qualify for 5%. Instead I got 2% with Discover, so that's $60 I left on the table.
Alliant 3%/2.5% card -- I SSL with Alliant and hope some day they'll send me an offer for it. This would cover my non-category spend better than Citi DC and one of Alliant's branches is walking distance from my home.

Right now I'm gardening, but my AAoA estimator tells me to apply for something between November and April 2018. I'm over 5/24 so Chase is out without a prequalification. Amex prequalification says no across the board. US Bank offers me 2 cards and I think I'd qualify. Alliant who knows.

Nothing else interests me yet -- maybe Barclays Uber card? Not sure, haven't done the math.

I don't have a relationship with Chase, unless that extends to being an authorized user.

American Express Centurion Card. I don't think I need to explain why I want it. What's standing in the way is an invitation to accept the card and a way to justify paying the annual fee. Also pretty sure the annual spend requirement is likely at least twice what I spend on all cards combined in a year, so there's that too.

In the real world, I'm not exactly longing for it, but I would grab the Marriott Rewards Premier card for the signup bonus (and try to figure out some place to redeem the annual Category 1-5 freebie; I have yet to find anything in one of my desinations that wasn't a 7, 8, or usually 9) if it weren't for the 5/24 problem.

Chase Sapphire Reserve. I am under 5/24 June 2019. I likely may pick up the Freedom Unlimited as a preapproval afterward just to have a general spend card that will earn UR points.

And after signing up, I see that they show me as 4/24, is that what Chase uses for their application data? (i had thought i was 5/25 and was abstaining from applying for another card)

How likely? No idea.

But in my case...

I burned Chase with about $8000 in CO in 2007.
My FICO08 was around 640-650 in May with unpaid lien AND unpaid recent collection.
Chase Credit Journey and my separate Chase login never showed any offers of any kind, ever.
In May, Chase Credit Journey showed me prequalified offers for both Freedom and Freedom Unlimited!
So I immediately logged into my Chase login and identical offers were there. I clicked, approved for $500, no delay.

So I am assuming that the offers are shown in both places and that CCJ may give people a way into Chase offers without having a Chase bank account.

Thanks ABCD2199, I dont have a deposit account with Chase, tried that once, and it was not a good experience.

Here is what I see;

I have no interest in any of them. I am just hoping to see some other offers that might be indicative of my profile with them.

It's 5/24 - but there are ways around it, one of them is an in branch card approval.

Whereare you seeing the 4/24 at?

Yep and those offers change as your profile changes. My section showed credit cards, so it may vary with time. Never hurts to pop in once a month and see if offers changed.

My boss and I have had invitations to get this card upgrade for our Business Platinum card and he admitted he would get it just to show off to potential clients/customers and honestly it's not the worse thing to spend a huge AF on it like it's advertising in a way lol. Might have to talk to him about it.

To be real probably getting a BoA card after putting some money in ML to get that increased rewards for being a PR member. Doubt it would ever be my primary spend but it's always nice to have options just in case. In a related note also put money in Chase so I can override the 5/24 rule and get what cards I want since they're finally building a local branch relatively close to us finally.

Ok, im probably in the minority on this subject as realistically nothing i truely crave that my current cards cant handle, ie low spend ,income lol.

However, i really do want a credit card with my favorite NBA team on it so id have to say the next bank card to get the NBA Contract . It could be Amex Visa, Mastercard, or Blistex i dont care lol
