Hello all. About 6 mos ago I embarked on a journey to have a honeymoon in maldives on points. Now I got an 80k bonus for AA elite something or another $95 AF waived the first year. They periodically send me offers on which I picked up another 20k on a vacation package. Still about 40k short and AF around the corner. Can I downgrade to anything as I don’t see any more vacation packages I’d like to get and there’s a sprint offer but I believe that would end up costing way too much suggestions plz?! I’ve used the card once and the only perk seems to be free checked bag and American doesn’t even have a hub in SF

AA stinks.

Fly with Delta instead... At least their rewards redemptions are more straight foward and useful.

Not all of us have that ability. If you don’t live in a Delta hub, it does not make sense.

I'd have to disagree with that statement, lol. I love AA! I've taken many a trip out of the continental United States on points. I love that you can get a round trip ticket on points without paying any additional money (if you have enough points), unlike other airlines that give you a few hundred bucks. Just one woman's opinion.

When I was planning my trip to Florida a month or two ago -

AA said I could spend 12.5k each way on two days in the entire month, and within those two days I had one flight option (radeye).

The other option was to "pay" 30,000 miles each way, a ridiculous price.

With Delta it was 30,000-40,000 miles round trip with a huge number of flight choices., any day of the month.

That is why I told Citi I won't be renewing the AAdvantage card I have, but PC'ing it to another one.
