I probably need to update my profile. I have a Blue Cash of my own now -- I bit when they offered $200 and 10% on restaurants. It was just a prompt when I logged in that asked if I wanted a credit line increase. I immediately assumed it would lead to a hardd pull, but after thinking about it maybe it's not. Chase and Barclays tend to do automatic increases from time to time so I just didn't know if anyone else had experienced this.

I logged on the other day and they offered to double my line of credit. Would that equate to an inquiry? It doesn't say so anywhere, but was curious about anyone else's experiences. It would be nice to increase the line since I use the card a lot at grocery stores and the utilization I think screws with my score each month on sites like Credit Karma.

I'm confused which AMEX card is this I don't see one on your sig and I've never seen a prompt where they offer to just double your CL as well without initiating it first. Did this just pop up when you logged in?

Are you talking about the Blue Cash that you're an authorized user on? Like simplynoir, I'm not familiar with Amex offering like that. They either just give you an automatic credit line increase, or you can ask for one at any time* up to 3x your current credit line. Either way, there is no hard inquiry for doing so.

* Typically after the card has been opened for at least 61 days. You must wait a minimum of 91 days after being denied a CLI on any account you have with Amex, and a minimum of 181 days after being granted a customer-initiated credit line increase of any account you have with Amex..

Honest question: can an AU even request a CLI on a card they're on? I'm figuring this is something only the primary can do but I guess it doesn't hurt to ask since it seems somewhat relevant.
