My pesronal opinion is they wouldn't offer it if they don't want you to use it. Although obviously AA can happen, usually there is more to it such as seeking alot of credit recently or making min. payments for several months or spikes in utilization on other accounts, etc.. You should be fine.

Advice question for all of you experts out there:

I recently did a BT to my Citi TYP card, but the BT terms aren't great. There was no BT fee, and haven't paid interest yet, but it will kick in soon and is relatively high (but much lower than the card I BT'd from).

Out of curiosity, logged in to check BT offers on my Barlcaycard. I know of all the issues with CLDs when BTing a big balance to them, but initially I was going to close the card anyway as I no longer use it and don't want to deal with Barclays. I was also planning on either closing the Citi, or just sock drawering it until it gets cancelled by them, so I'm not too worried about AA on either one.

There is a 2% fee on the BT to Barclays (with 0% interest - new offer since the Citi BT), lower than my other offers from other cards, and I'm thinking of going ahead with it.

Again, no plans on using it again, and I had planned on cancelling it - would there be a downside to just going ahead and making the BT, even if they do CLD/balance chase as it seems they do (I will be using about 77% of my limit whe I do the BT)? Something beyond just having something report at high util if they CLD until I pay it off?

I should have the BT paid off in 6 or 8 months, and have no plans or need to app for new things of any type within the next year at least.

Appreciate any thoughts!

Thanks!
