Synchrony Security Issue

I got a new phone last week and have been getting 5-6 robocalls per day from Synchrony that I have a 90 day late on my Walmart card. Obviously I don't have a Walmart card (or any accounts with Synch for that matter), so I called the number to hopefully get them to stop calling. After hitting 00000000# about 20 times to bypass the account number and SSN prompts, I got to a person. I declined to offer my name, but after I gave them the number, they asked if I knew [Insert the Indian-sounding name here]. Obviously I said no and that I am not nor have I ever been a Synch customer. They said I'd stop receiving the calls and then hung up. But they just gave me a guy's name... from only a phone number. Mind you, I wasn't even calling from this number I was using a different phone, so they couldn't validate on that.

I'd be a bit concerned with Synchrony's security.

Honestly I've gotten phone calls like that for random people I've never known and my ex husband (whom I unfortunately do know), all of which I get a first and last name. I probably wouldn't have thought anything of it.

I get calls from collections, sales, telemarketers all the time, and boy do I rip into them....the Do not Call list is a joke, telling them to take your number out of the system wont work either

Oh yikes, that is a very bad security protocol. If Chase gave a random person my name (and by proxy phone number) because I put my number in wrong somewhere and they received a call, I would be fuming!
