Walmart & Sam's Club... Favorite Benefits

Ok, so... What are your favorite benefits of having a Walmart/Sam's Club card, if any?

I like the fact that they are inter-operable and I can ask for up to a $100 withdrawl in either store.

The only reason I got my Walmart card was to get the 0% financing on a new set of tires for my van. I've used it one other time for a big shopping trip. Otherwise it's useless to me, there are no Walmart Gas stations to get 2% at and I hate the Walmart website which is the only place that give 3%.

I haven't received my Sam's Club card yet but I think it doesn't have FTF. A huge plus and probably the best one imo

If you cannot qualify for blispay deferred interest option with the Walmart and or Sam's Club is a big one. It's comparing apples to oranges if you think anytime you need a 0% interest rate just to go out and apply for a new bank card as not everyone is in that position and it is not always the wisest thing to do, sure is fun though

I got my Sam's Club MC for the 3% cash back on restaurants and travel and 5% back on gas.

I was expecting more promotions... so far the only thing that's come along is promotional financing for mattresses. I keep thinking they'll eventually have a financing promo for tires but so far they haven't (or if they have, I've not been targeted for it).

That said, it is nice to be able to get cash back at the register... very handy to be able to bypass the ATM.

They don't have promotional financing on SC for just the total of the purcahse like Walmart? And yes nowadays the only reason I keep my two cards is for the QuickCash option. No ATM fees and no immediate interest charges is a win-win in my book.

It's not a CSR or an Amex Platinum, but it's really not a terrible card to travel with. No FTF and 3% cash back on hotel and restaurants is actually pretty good!

Correct. For QuickCash it is treated like a purchase. But I believe the cash advance interest starts when the next billing period starts.

It counts just like part of the purchase so there are no fees at all.

(If I'm not mistaken they don't pay rewards on the cash-over portion, though.)

I imagine the real turn-off for SC other than the membership requirement is the yearly redemptions for the cashback. Otherwise I'd think it'd be a more popular card.

Yep. I mean they take that QuickCash you took and take it out of your cash advance limit but it doesn't pay rewards since it is a cash advance...but it's not. Does that makes any sense?

Yep, it's not a show-stopper for me (I was a heavy user of the Sam's Club MC the first year or so I had it) but with a 2.5% flat card (Limitless) that I can redeem anytime I admit I don't use the Sam's Club MC as often as I used to (other than at the pump... I always use it there).

I keep all my cash rewards in a separate bank account so I don't mind the delay too much, but last year my check got lost in the mail and I had to have it reissued, which was a bit of a hassle.

Cash back option, high limits achievable, and the fact that it annoys alot of people haha!. I may eventually close my Wally though. I dont like going to Wally and only like 1% of website is shipable to my location so.

Even though the Wally MC is beatable by other cards, i wish one could get it at begining of a rebuild rather than later, ie Best Buy, as usually by the time you can get the MC, you already have achieved better cards lol.

Uncle B - Visit Sam's Club tire center and they always have 0% promos for tires.

I purchased a TV last year for 0% for 12 mos.

None of these were targeted they are available at Sam's Club locations.

I also got an e-mail just this morning for 3% CB for using my Sam's Club MC from 12/11 - 12/13

I love my Sam's Club MC. For me it works very well 5% on gas and 3% on travel and restaurants.

This is good to know! You would think they would do a better job at 'getting the word out', though!
