That said, I've not personally had an account, I've read it's improved...a bit...and they do have some good promos.

I move assets around occasionally to chase promotions (as I think we've discussed before?). Fidelity and Schwab are my favorites.

Edge offers free trades for some customers, but I don't think the Edge execution would be of much interest to people who trade often enough that they could use most of them.

I’m looking at around $530 in annual fees next year. All except the Red Aviator ($95) were waived this year. Next year will be a time of reckoning for a few—get them waived, product changed, or canceled.

None, I don't like the pressure of needing to spend a certain amount to break even on an AF, even if it's money I'm going to spend anyway and an AF card may net me more rewards.

Currently I pay $1,463 in fees and my wife pays $365 so together we pay $1,828 in fees. We will be dropping some in the coming months though.

The real kicker for us the my Amex Mercedes Platinum with authorized users is $750 per year now. I feel we get our annual fee's worth out of the card, but that is still a large number.

In 2017 I was rebuilding from nothing, so all I had was $39 for QS1 but I do pay for a Spotify subscription so the AF will at least be 100% offset by the subscription cashback ($5/month x 12 months). I won't keep the card if they don't PC or waive the next AF in July though.

I'll budget for CSR if I get it (ever) and I think I can budget for Platinum with 3 AUs on it. But both of those are future fees I'm pre-planning for versus ones I pay now.

I always do the math, pre-planned style.
