I didn't realize they offered it until after I joined, and then promptly stashed $1,000 in it. I have a part time job payroll going onto my DCU checking to get the "relationship status", but my main checking is with a southern Arizona CU, Vantage West, just more convenient with local branches when I need them. I have a Visa card with them at 11.25% APR with no fee cash advances, but that's still more interest than I want to pay. And it's my least used card because of it's horrible rewards program, you need a gazillion points to redeem for overpriced merchandise I don't want or need. I have a monthly $21 bill runing through it to keep it active.

And your other post, yes I see it now on my EQ report, monthly DCU SPs.

DCU is my main credit union. I've had a few auto loans and also have a checking and savings account. I tried for a credit card a few years ago but was denied because of my tax liens. Those liens were removed from my reports in July so I think I'm good to go!

I did some research. It looks like starting limits are generally in the $5K-$10K range. Over $10K seems to be rare. Are CLIs a SP or HP and how frequent do they happen? My 08 scores are all in the 740 range but my EQ 04 is 716. Their Platinum Visa has an APR as low as 9.5% while the Platinum Rewards card can be as low as 12.25%. I have enough rewards cards so I'd go for the lowest APR. I read about being able to move money around for a quick "loan". Is there anything else I should know about the card?

Thanks!

CLI offers that are made via the quarterly offerings extended to qualified accounts are based on the AR SPs. If they are still following their established schedule the next round of offers should go out next week. Otherwise, expect a HP.

You request a SL as part of the application. If you leave money on the table they may extend a CLI offer at the next quarterly offering.

The Platinum Rewards card isn't bad but it isn't particularly exciting either.

I didn’t request a SL when I apped, I don’t remember being able to do so either.
I was approved for $7500 @ 16.25% on the Rewards Visa in May of this year.. EQ08 was around 680-710, although I do know that they pull a different version

The card is boring. But I got it without an additional HP when I did the loan for my RV

Interesting fact - they report to the CRAs at the end of the month, or the 1st - not on your statement cut date.

I almost never use mine- no reason to. But, you can use it for an easy cash advance with no fee if you need

I'm going to guess if I request a SL higher than they would give me, they will counter with something lower? Most of my cards are in the $10K - $23K range. I'd probably request $10K or $15k.

Two out of my ten cards are reporting a balance. Utilization is 13%.

They use and pull EQ FICO 5 Mortgage scores. I have the Platinum. Originally approved for $10,000. I had to fight hard for a recent $5,000 CLI (HP). DCU is very conservative. Depending on your FICO 5, you won't get beyond $10,000 for a SL. MY FICO 5 when originally approved over a year ago was 735 with a clean file.

Unless a preapproval shows up on your accounts page, and I have never been given a preapproval, then it will be a HP for a CLI. And you won't get one for at least a year.

Perhaps they are conservative with CCs, which accounts for their mediocre line up of CCs. I just joined in October for a car loan, but none of their CCs appeal to me. My first AR will be in early January, do they ever give pre-approvals for new credit cards? That's the only way I'd get one. I laugh at their banner promoting 1% rewards for CCs Thanksgiving through New Years - I stopped using my Cap One & Barclays Cashforward because they're only 1.5% rewards, 2% is the minimum to get me to charge on a card.
