I've updated it lets see if somewhere within the next quarter they offer some insight. Thanks!

Is there a best way to grow the SW Plus card? I've had it for about 8 months and its got 2% utilization on it. By what I see on the boards I shouldn't be expected anything just yet and thats ok. But I am not seeing too much confirming what the best way is to grow this card? Seems like Chase is low/slow.

Any thoughts?

Usage, and lots of it - never be late. I'm not sure there's really a "best" way or exact timeframe since everyone's internal profiles and behavioral scoring will differ to trigger any type of auto-CLI, especially from Chase. I have several of their cards and some grow faster than others, but there's really no rhyme or reason to make a specific determination.

I will have had my SWRR card for two years in February. No auto-luv for me. I did carry a large balance on it early, always paid way more than minimum, paid off last year around May. Since then I have had periods of heavy usage but always paid in full at the end of the month. No luv.

This month, I requested a cli by phone. They double pulled EQ and EX and gave me a $5000 cli - from $3000 to $8000.

Not it sure what triggers auto luv on this card. Good luck!

Thanks for the inisght there with your exp.

We are putting our monthly expenses on this car like i said and paying it in full each month.

This card earns

1 point per $1 spent on everyday stuff

2 points on each $1 spent on southwest purchases.

So far we've stayed the same with the CL, but we are getting a ok amount of points. To date 80k points. Which is nice because it is paying for airfare to Disneyland! Any suggestions on maybe a card thats better rewards wise? Like I said we have this card to put our reoccurring monthly bills on it and pay it off monthly. We dont fly one specific airline. Also we checked into Delta Amex but the points ratio and the cost for flights seemed more expensive then what we've currently got.

This is the only “travel” card in my wallet. It’s been great for me, but I don’t fly much. I earn enough points to fly my son home for spring break and a flight to see my daughter once a year. I’m a cash back kinda girl.

If you are looking for a different travel card, I would make a new post to get that exposure.

Sorry I couldn’t help!

My last job had me traveling a lot for work, and we were able to use my Southwest card for pretty much everything. After a few months, Chase more than doubled my CL from 8500 to 19.2K. As has been mentioned, use it as much as you can, pay it off, and never be late.

The best way to grow any Chase card is to use the throwaway-combine method. I am not sure if Chase allows this with the Southwest card, but I assume they do.

The process is simple:

Apply for any useless Chase card that isn't under 5/24 -- for example, Disney or AARP.

Use the new limit to combine into the Southwest card, then close the card you transfered the limit from.

Repeat this every 6/12/24 months as you want to and as Chase allows you to.

Lots of folks have Chase cards in the $30,000 CL range because they used this method to get there.

If you absolutely want a bigger CL, using an HP for a new account is superior to using an HP for an unknown CLI request.

The only downside here is if you're over 4/24 and you're hoping to get under 5/24 so you an app a Chase card that relies on that measure.

After I had the CSR card, the Southwest card became obsolete. The same thing with several other hotel and airline cards. Very few cards can beat the 3% rewards on travels..... You only get the special perks and status with the co-brand travel cards.
