Is there any downside to the Mercedes Platinum compared to the standard version?

While the SUB would outweigh the AF for the first year, long-term it wouldn't make financial sense to have two personal Platinum cards. Hmmm, I didn't realize a PC to cobranded was possible. I may need to keep this in mind as I'm debating between M-B and BMW for the next car.

Besides AAoA? Age of account, age of open accounts, number of new accounts last x months, etc... Headache of changing over elite loyalty programs... I'm sure there are more reasons. Of course the scoring part of that may or may not matter to a person. If someone were just finishing their first year with a Platinum card, then it's probably a fairly moot thing. Mine recently had her quinceañera, so she's not getting replaced.

Aren't there like 5-7 Platinum versions to choose from? And from my understanding the ones that have SUBs you can get it for all of them provided you don't mind the dings to your AAoA. I was thinking about this the other day when considering getting a personal Plat to SUB. If I could nab the personal and PC to the Schwab after the first year I would consider that for my situation.

Yes as long as the points are banking in the same MR account they should be safe. I was referring to their strict SUB wording. Sorry I should have been clearer. To be safe I wouldn’t close any investment accounts while the card itself is still active, particularly in the first year.
