CAP1 GRADUATE :)

I expected my CAP1 secured card to remain secured because from what I'd read on the forums a lot of people said theirs never graduated. This morning I checked my email to find that my secured MasterCard was changed to unsecured and my security deposit would be refunded to me!! I'm sooo happy!!! I haven't been the best at keeping my utilization down but I always pay my bill on time, every time!! It's been almost 1 year since I've had the card and so far they've given me a CLI that I didn't request and now this. I'm on my way to better!!

Lots of data points that if you apped for the card since late 2016, you'll graduate at the 11 month mark.

My 11 months comes up in April so we'll see!

Congrats on the graduation!

I opened a capital one secured and 3 months after opening it my scores jumped 70ish points. Was finally able to obtain cards from prime lenders with rewards. Wanted my money back and didnt feel like waiting 8 months to graduate So i closed it.

Im assuming you mean mastercard not visa ?

Congrats. Mine I think will never unsecure. I got mine a few months before they started doing them. Congrats again on yours.

Yesterday was 11th statement, one year anniversary.

Nothing. Just broken dreams. My score has gone up almost 200 points since I opened that damned secured card.

I have new cards with other issuers with 7x the limit out the gate.

I am not happy.

Don't give up hope! Maybe call them to see if the graduation will start for older accounts?

I am also waiting to see if mine graduates. I dont really use it tho since i have much better reward cards. time will tell.
