System not responding?

So I jumped the cliff and applied for the AMEX Delta Gold card tonight. EQ 637 EX 633 TU 600---I know I took a chance, but I have seen others get approved with similiar/worse scores. So I put in my app and after about 45 seconds and said something to the effect of "Our system is not responding right now so we will notify you of our decision by mail in 14 days."

What the CRAP?! Well that sucks! I wanted an answer tonight! Should I call them tomorrow? On a Saturday? I signed the "release" so they can email me when they have the answer.

This blows.

(p.s. AMEX needs its own forum, I swear)

I am not sure if I would worry just yet. I tried to access my account a couple times today and it gave me an error message saying "System Temporarily Unavailable". Keep the faith, and if they do not approve you then just recon them!

When I got 3 Amex cards within a one week span, my third app was in progress for 5 days before I finally got approved. EQ and TU scores were each a few points less than yours. I don't know what EX was but I'd imagine in that range.

Update: Checked back online and I needed to call in and verify address. After calling my bank and verifying I checked back online and APPROVED! I do not know what my CL is, but I suppose I will find out when the card comes. I really do not want to call them just to get my limit, haha. I'm sure it is only 1K though, I think that is the lowest they offer correct?
