Hi All,

I got the "Congrats, on your pre-approval" email from PenFed over the weekend, which seemed odd for their 'cycle'. I got one of these in January and it had several auto loan options, but that's it. The email I got over this weekend had an option for the Platinum Rewards card for $6,200 and an auto loan for $35k.

I thought it was a SP CLI offer for my current Plat Rewards cards with them, which would bring it up to $36,200. I have no reason to refuse a free SP CLI so I logged in and when I clicked on "view all offers" I had a lot more than expected LOL Not sure if i'm going to pull the trigger on any of these, but again, a welcomed surprise!

I joined PenFed in 2015 WITH baddies and didn't get my first preapproval from them until around 09/2017 (after my auto loan turned a year and all baddies had fallen off all reports). I want to say I had received 2 preapprovals since they started sending me offers, but they were always auto loan related. This is the most generous they have been with me in a preapproval...woo-hoo!

Forgot to ask ... I wonder if I were to apply for a CLI on my Plat Rewards if they would give me that maximum offer and add $17k on top of my $30k??? And to confirm, are the offers here essentially SP, but if I applied for a CLI it would be a HP?

That's all I ever get too. I joined them clean, I am still clean and a FICO 9 of 778. My Nexgen score was always 750 plus. Still I never get anything. Not even a trailer approval that I would never take. But they could throw it in as a bone to make me think they are thinking about me!! Lol...

I received a preapproval email over the weekend. Didn't see anything at that time. I just checked thanks to your post. Dang! Penfed is opening up the flood gates! Who said you can't get approved with a half million in open tradelines already reporting to the CBs ?😂

The cool thing about Penfed is their preapprovals are REAL. Not just advertisement and fishing scams.

No it's a soft pull, click on the card you already have. It will asked if you want the CLI.

They did go a bit crazy with the recreational vehicles, of which I have zero, but they're the only bank I have that even offers all those types lol maybe it's time to look into one

Hey Gmood! I see you're still clowning around this site lol I've been trying to stay off here because if I'm here too much, the chase will never end and its like app-o-rama every weekend lol

Your loans are pretty much the same as mine, but we've always seemed to be favored by the same lenders. I'm surprised you don't have cards on there too

I'm not sure what I'd do with a $47,000 limit, only one way to find out!

They did go a bit crazy with the recreational vehicles, of which I have zero, but they're the only bank I have that even offers all those types lol maybe it's time to look into one

Lol..yeah I don't have any of them either. Xcel FCU doles out similar offers. Their's aren't SPs though. State department FCU will send you SP personal loan checks to cash.

Yeah, I'm capped out with them already on CCs. I currently have an auto loan with PenFed.

Yup still clowning. I haven't done any major apping lately though. Well none that shows up on the CBs. Lol

I've tried restraining myself from most apps lately. Honestly not much out there I want besides a card from one of my CUs.

I am the same way, however my FICO hasn't updated from 1/30. I'm not expecting anything this round but you never know. I would love to refi one of our cars.

I only have the one card with them and my auto loan too. Smells like Business Cards lol I've been doing the same. Amex Blue Biz, Amex Plum, Lowes Amex and Chase Marriott Biz. Would love to get my hands on Ink but they aren't touching me with a 10 foot pole lol

Hi Gmood1, what was the new card you got that I saw you mention last week.

On Topic: Prompted by this thread I signed in to my PenFed account and saw that my EQ FICO 9 scored increased to 794(1/30/18 pull). Unfortunately no offers for me other than TurboTax and auto loans. Wasnt expecting any offers since I've only been a member since 9/17.

Mine shows the same. It is odd they would offer the preapprovals so far after the SP date listed. What's also odd is that my last round didn't have the cards and it was when the 01/30 report loaded. No report change since then, but the offers expanded into the cards.

Oops... just realized that my EX FICO 9 score was from a 1/30 pull while the AR soft pull offers are based on the 2/28 pull. So I guess another update to the FICO 9 scores will occur on April 1. Never realized until now that the FICO 9 scores were updated monthly and not quarterly.

That was a Simply Plus Business Amex I grabbed last week under the radar. Those kind of apps are the best ones. Limits don't have to be huge, because the utilization isn't an issue.

Crack guy, you caught me red handed. lol

I don't have any Chase business cards. Maybe one day. Chase is a little twitchy for my taste though.
