AMEX Platimum vs Chase Sapphire Reserve

Hello everyone! How are all of you??

I have researched both of these cards, now I got a pre-approved offer for the AMEX PRG, I haven't applied for it yet, cause I know that it is a charge card, but I believe it is slightly better than the Platimum, the $550 annual fee, in the future, I was thinking of applying for the CSR cause even if the annual fee is $450, it's a credit card, and I feel the benefits are much more substantial then it's competion, thoughts on these cards though?? What do you all think?? As much as I LOVE Amex, the platimum is not really for me, I don't use Uber a whole lot, so I don't see the point of that card...

*Note I already have a BCE and Everyday, so I am good in that part...

I just picked up a CSR... they credit back the first $300 travel purchases so that $450 annual fee turns in to a $150 annual fee pretty quickly. That, the sign-on bonus, and the UR make it look pretty appealing.

If you already know the platnium isn’t the card for you then why even compare it to another card. It could be the worlds best credit card but if you won’t use a single one of the perks then what’s the point ?

The platnium was designed for frequent business fliers. The 5X MR points are unbeatable for those who fly a lot coupled with extensive lounge access. It definitely has its value.
If you use the perks. The platnium has a net $150 AF just like the CSR. It also includes access to more lounges then chase does.

But again if you don’t fly a lot, don’t use Uber then you should follow your own thoughts and get a different card.

As far as credit cards vs charge cards
There’s really no difference between them as far as earning rewards or benefits to having either one. It’s all program/issuer based on which one works better for you.

Yes credit cards you can revolve balances, but if your doing that you are negating the point of a rewards card as any rewards earned you will be negated by the interest you paid.

Even if you don't use Uber you can order food through Uber Eats and the credit is applied.

Which benefits are you talking about? How would you want to redeem rewards?

PRG has a good extended warranty feature, but lacks a lot of things like trip cancellation or delay insurance. Platinum isn't much better in that regard, but offers a lot of perks for travelers. CSR may only offer Priority Pass, but has excellent travel insurance.

Are there any particular airlines or hotel chains you favor?

I get that Platinum may not be for you...but why would PRG be so great when you already have gas/grocery cards and can get a CSR (or CSP or another premium Chase product) for dining/travel?

Amex Platinum works for frequent travelers like myself. I benefit from the perks so I don’t mind the annual fee of $450 (I have the Biz Platinum). But for others the Amex Platinum may not work for them.

The PRG is on standby, I'm not sure if I'm gonna go to apply it or not, I keep getting offers for this card, and I just never apply for it, even though AMEX knows that I have the BCE and Everyday already...as for the hotel chains, I have nothing in particular...so I only want to know the comparisons, thanks for all the suggestions...
