Chase sapphire bonus points what happens... question.

I applied for chase sapphire caed and was approved for 50k spend and get bonus I spent a 4k on a trip and recieved my points. The trip is in 6 months although I'm not sure if I will need to cancel or not due to medical issues. Does anyone know what will happen to my account if I've already used the points and deposited them into my account as cash?

I think you have two reasonable and fairly practical options.

1. Spend another $4k before the 90 days ends so you still hit it even if you cancel the trip.

2. Talk to Chase about your situation sooner than later, especially if it's a recent medical development, something you were unaware of when you cashed out your points. Most likely worst case scenario is they take $500 in some way to effectively redact the points but won't penalize you otherwise - but of course if you take the trip then there will be no issue.

I highly suggest going with option 1 if you seriously think there's a good chance you'll miss the trip, because option 2 forfeits your bonus.

Well the 90 days is over with at this point. I'm still constantly using the card. I'd rather not foreit the points as its one of the big perks and reasons I got it for the bonus.

If you did hit a separate $4k spend then you're fine. If there's a good chance you'll end up cancelling the trip...you might just wanna call Chase and see if they can work with you cuz you might be screwed if you just cancel.

Unfortunately I didn’t meet another 4K spend within the time period of 90 days. I called and basically chase rep said don’t worry about it nothing will happen.. which I don’t really believe but I’m concerned I might be charged it back and at that point I might not even be able to afford to pay it.

As long as the credit isn't returned to the card within the first 90 days (essentially you need to spend $4000 minus any credits to earn the bonus), you should be fine since the charge has already been finalized and posted. A refund would be a credit issued to the card, not a reversal of the original charge.
