Depends on where the majority of your spend is. Out of the ones you listed, the 2% Cash Back would be my choice. Do you have others? Personally I wouldn’t focus on a “relationship” with Synchrony. I prefer a good CU and a major bank for “relationships.” Additionally, what are your specific future goal?

I've been lurking around for a few months, and the advice/information has been invaluable. I'm in the building phase and recently got approved for a few new cards--the Paypal 2% MC (2k SL) and a Cap One platinum(1k SL)--and I'd like to maximize my growth opportunities over the next 6 months to a year.

I've read that Synchrony limits can grow with frequent, responsible use, but I'd also like to PC my platinum into a better Cap One card down the line. With that in mind, I'm looking for recommendations as to which card should become my daily driver? Thanks!

Just for reference, scores:

EX: 645

EQ: 656

TU: 680

Majority of spend is in gas, grocery, and dining categories. I was primarily thinking Paypal because I use PayPal and ebay frequently.

I'm graduating next month and long term I'd like to have a strong relationship with someone like Chase or Amex to maximize travel benefits. After a year or two, work travel is going to pick up significantly.

Then I’d say use your 2% Card now, focus on good spending habits and on-time payments. In 6-12 months I’d look at AmEx BCE and Chase Freedom. Watch your 5/24, and after some time with Amex and Chase look at CSP or CSR. That’s my opinion.

We have a 2% card (PenFed PCR) as our daily driver, but we put various spend on other cards.

Amex BCE gets our grocery spend (although disco gets it this Qtr w/5% category), Sam’s Club MC gets our gas & Travel and Uber gets all of our dining.

DH has a hard time keeping it straight but he’s getting there 😂

It’s been mentioned other places in this forum, but if you get a Paypal business debit card and make the 2% Paypal MC your back up funding source, you can get a total of 3% back.

I wouldn't worry about the platinum. I just PCd it to a Quicksilver after only 4 months, and I used it a total of 3 times in that time period. I also requested a CLI a week later and got it. I don't even have the new card yet.
