Starting to rebuild and scores are pretty bad but i am getting three offers from subprime lenders. First Premier, Credit One and Lendup. No credit Card baddies but some medical bills and utilities. I am planning on getting a secured card as soon as i can but for right now are any of these cards worth considering?

No, No, and I doubt it.

Have you tried to prequalify with Capital One?

They're pretty forgiving of past troubles...

Cap One, Discover or Discover Secured. If you have any military ties what so ever with family, significant other or yourself etc. Navy Federal and USAA have great secured cards as well, NFCU is superior to USAA.

Cap one offered me a secured card, while discover gave me no offers. My scores range from 512 trans and 524 equifax 516 exp. No family in the military. I know my best bet right now is a secured card but i cant at this very moment, so just wanted to start putting some postive credit history on my report. Have heard horror stories of credit union and first premier but dont know much about lend up.

I agree with those that suggested Capital One's secured option. You might want to look into a Fingerhut Freshstart account because that program specifically targets people with bad credit. As for First Premier and Credit One, they are terrible cards that usually impose ridiculous AFs.

For most people whether that be rebuilding or just starting credit history your gonna start out with a secured card. Another option is to become an authorized user on someone else's card. If you wanna take a shot at an unsecured card I'd say go the capital one platinum card route. But I highly recommend you apply for a secured card. If you have a local credit union sign up and try there or try capital one secured.

And I closed the account less than a year later). Do the secured card route, two of them, then garden for six months and continue to work on your baddies. I also agree with a PP, check with your banking institution or a local credit union, for another secured card. (I say no to Fingerhut because you might be able to use that HP for something better later!)
