Discover it card

Not sure if this fits here or in personal finance.

I get paperless statements online. I usually pay from there but my bank just started offering online bill pay.

So the first one I go to set up is the discover it card. It says to use the account number from the statement but when I log on and view the paperless version I can not seem to figure out which number they are referring to.

I feel stupid asking. Lol

Your account number is your card number. In the top right it says "Account ending in: xxxx", which is your card's last 4 numbers

I have paperless statements also but Discover only prints the last four digits of your account number on the statement. When I use my bank's billpay I just list the account number as the full number that is on the back of my card with the address that is on the statement.

Is there a difference between paying through discover's website or using a bank's bill pay?

Essentially the difference is the lender taking money from your bank (pulling payment) or the bank sending money to the lender (pushing payment). There can be reasons for pushing payments (bill pay), such as a minimum time required between payments or a lender only allowing a single payment in a statement cycle.
