Citibank Invitation to PC From Thank You Preferred to Citi Double Cash

Has anyone experienced an invitation from a credit card company to change a product besides AMEX Gold to Platinum? They say it is because I'm loyal. MEh. But my APR will stay the same. I applied for the DOuble Cash last year and got denied. I had no idea I could PC to Double Cash from Thank You Preferred. I don't really spend my TY points. I don't use the card as much as I used to because all of my spend is on Chase cards now.

Should I take the offer?

Yes, I have recieved multiple offers from Citi to convert my Diamond Preferred to DC.

With no new short trm 5% spend offers on the DP in over a year, I will probably take them up on the next DC PC offer.

Everythimg usually stays the same in these PC moves, except the obvious benefit differences. No HP.

Meh. I guess I'll give it a shot. I PC'd from the Prestige down to the Preferred once they reduced the benefits. I didn't know I could go from the Prestige to the DoubleCash.

Citi is making no secret of the fact that Double Cash is now their primary credit card product. This is the card they want people to carry. They have stopped promoting their three Thank You Points cards. They also seem to have cut back on their promotions of Simplicity as a balance transfer card.

Which is a joke. Corbat and his crew have gone insane with cut backs. I don't like the way the guy is steering the company.

Citi is like Pizza Hut... They don't understand why they're losing money so they use ineffective measures to cut costs and give the finger to their loyal customers, while not realizing what the real problem is... Your customer service sucks... Another way Citi gives their customers the finger.

Or you can just call in and request they PC your card... And then boom, done that same day.

Maybe just PC to the Dividend card - works for me.

Then again, I'm just a 5%-Category kinda guy...

Citi's was sending me flyers about PC'ing over from Dividend DC every 3 months until Dec, last year. This, I think is pretty normal for a CC company to do. I didnt budge, since I am stubborn. But the 5% categories are becoming sadder every quarter and I might call them next month to PC over.

Quick update for OP.

I called them and PC'ed over to the DC, it should be arriving in 3-4 weeks. So long 5% categories...
