Discover It Secured Card going unsecured?

I now have 7 statements with DIS and I called today and the rep told me that now they do not review until the 8th statement? I thought it was 7. Anyway she went over my credit management and she said it was excellent. My question is, will my card go to an unsecured card next month? I always have less then 20% of limit used, always pay in full on time, no bad history on credit report, only thin file. Thanks.

The program is 12 months long, they just start checking after the 7th statement. Most people say they've received an email when they started reviewing to unsecure.

My card graduated at the 8th statement, I got an email stating that my deposit is being returned...yada yada yada, but still no CLI for me. You'll be fine. Good luck!

I never recieved anything, i just happened to be calling and was in the secured dept, and they told me i would have to be transfered as my card was no longer secured. 3 days later i got two letters, one congratulation me on grad and 7-10 until my refund, and the other was my sec deposit back. Some times it does and they dont really say anything. Other ppl told me the same thing happened to them as well.

It's a 12 month program, but will unsecure depending on your use. It could graduate early, or it could take as long as 2 years from what I've seen on the forums. I missed a payment around the 3rd or 4th month by two days. I'm on month 9 now and hoping it will unsecure in the next month or two, but who knows.

Mine was unsecured after the 6 statement. Just turned a year now and I have got 2 clis at 300 a pop and 1 auto at 700 now I am at 2800. Starting line was 1500. So it all depends on the individual account. I used it alot in the beginning and paid it down quickly. In that worked for me.

Me too!!! I missed it by 2 days exactly. I was away and honestly just forgot. I paid off the entire balance when I got back but I figured the damage was already done. So I’m hanging out with my pink secured card until they let me out of secured jail. Lol

Lol, for me, I applied my rewards, but forgot to pay the balance due, which was $2.35 -_-

Cool. Yeah I always pay it down and use it. Wonder why they didn’t let me leave to a unsecured card

I've had mine 12 months now and still secured. I was not using it much early on, but have started giving it heavy usage. Hoping that it will unscure in the next few month if I continue to use it the way I have been.
