I’m almost hitting 3 months with my Chase FU. I’ve always kept my util under 8.9% but Yet when it reports, it shows a balance of $0.00. I leave a balance of 8.9% or less when my statement cuts, then pay the balance off. I’m trying to understand how Chase is reporting to the Credit bureaus. Looks like Chase reports when I pay my Statement balance.

It's possible to continuously report a positive balance on a Chase card while avoiding interest if you wait until a new charge has posted and avoid paying to zero. It's a bit of a pain to do that, though. You may as well let Chase's policy work for you rather than against you as it can be really handy at times.

Note that Chase will also report whenever you call and ask them to. If all of your cards are at zero and you need some points quickly, it might be worth the effort to make a request.

Moving forward; going to leave a balance before my statement cuts on my AMEX. I have one question: When I make a purchase, I’d like to pay it off within 2-3 days. So if I do that with chase and pay it down to zero, it’ll report multiple times within that month?
