Has anyone else receive this email? I received this morning for my newly EDP.

"We're writing to provide you information on the Cash Advance feature on your Card, which allows you to withdraw cash at over one million Automated Teller Machines worldwide that display the AMEX logo."

I actually talked to the chat rep and said that as of October 2017, anyone eligible for this feature is being added automatically...only for the card that qualifies. I did try to add it but got an error, he said they already added the feature on my EDP and not availble on my other cards. I will not use this since the cash advance rate is high and doesn't make sense even if you pay it back asap.

Not the exact house, but similar.

I would not even consider it. Aside from the fees being high, as someone else mentioned, it could affect your ability to get a CLI. About year and a half ago I used my Amex card for a CA and months later when I requested a CLI the sole reason for the denial cited something along the lines of "You have taken a CA for this card in the last 12 months."

Yeah right. AMEX would be the last card i would use for a cash advance. Unless of course you want some form of AA.

Credit Unions such as DCU, Penfed and NFCU couldn't care less if you take cash advances.

DCU encourages the practice.

I would only use CA, from a credit union with a small fee or from the Walmart/Sam club card lol, no cash advance fee and give a month or so to pay it back!
