    <description>UPDATE: I chatted with a representative online yesterday after I posted this, Discover already sent me a letter in response to my letter which I will be receiving in the mail any day now. Hopefully it's good news *fingers crossed*. I'm going to continue to pursue this issue until I have exhausted all avenues. I was dealing with a serious medical condition, there should be some leniency. I was completely incapacitated and had an IV in my neck (I have photos) .&lt;BR /&gt;The worst part about this situation is that my credit affects my business. Clients run my credit score before agreeing to contracts.</description>

      <description>I missed my first credit card payment ever. I was hospitalized after having two grand mal seizures, I paid my others cards but forgot about my Discover Card, it was a very small amount. I wasn't notified about the missed payment. I realized when I went to pay the bill the following month, it was just past 30 days. I immediately paid the entire bill. I spoke with one of their representatives on the regular line and they said it happens automatically. My credit score dropped 100 points! I read online that you can ask for a good will adjustment. I sent a letter to their customer service address and received no response. Has this happened to anyone else? Should I try calling them back and ask to speak with a manager? Any help would be greatly appreciated.</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Discover is actually pretty customer responsive so if I were you I'd keep&amp;nbsp;calling and writing asking&amp;nbsp;for a goodwill forgiveness of the late posting, show them your hospital&amp;nbsp;bill, show them that you paid in full, underline that you do NOT want the late payment fee back (if there was one). Be kind be respectful and keep asking. Should they grant your request understand it is your one and only&amp;nbsp; "do over", as well as it should be since lenders don't report a past due until 30+ days meaning a second statement cut.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Oh, one last thing, set up auto payments on all your accounts (it can be for the minimum payment) so even if you are in a coma for 30+ days, your bill will be paid.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>Try emailing them and don’t let the first denial stop you from keeping at it. If you haven’t sent in at least 5-7 goodwill letters or emails, your not trying hard enough.</description>

      <description>OP- Contact someone in the Executive Office. Send an email and snail mail to the CEO and explain your medical condition and beg them for a goodwill adjustment.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Stop sending and calling the front line CSR as they have no power to help you. CEO and upper management are the only folks who can help you.</description>

I have seen first hand from friends and family that it can be disastrous.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Certain trusted people have my passwords and all the necessary information to pay my credit bills should I become temporarily or permanently incapacitated.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>Good luck op, life happens. Autopay might be good for many but hard to do if someone lives paycheck to paycheck. Crappy I know, should have savings , emergency funds, etc, but unfortunately not all of us are in that boat. This is the one thing I hate about credit ...years to build up to great credit only takes one mistake or one medical issue to knock you down like that.</description>

Hopefully the letter is a goodwill adjustment and not a "we reported correctly" unfortunately we can not change accurate information.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;The pictures along with the situation that caused you to miss the payment will be very compelling to the reader and will make them feel extremely empathetic towards you and help you get it done.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

I walked in their office and asked to speak to the highest ranking manager and began begging them for a goodwill deletion. It was worth the flight. They goodwill deleted for me.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

It’s not like you intended it to happen.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Your &amp;nbsp;score will recover. You had a major health event and recovered.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Before stressing on a GW efforts, I think you should &amp;nbsp;be more focused on maintaining your good health. Again just my 2 cents.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
