Amex Backdate Question

I have 2 Amex card on Feb 2012 ? If i add myself as an authorize user on one of my parents card who become amex member since 2014 ? Would amex backdate my account to 2012 or 2014 ? Anyone know about amex backdate please chime in. Thanks in advance.

Unfortunately Amex stopped backdating to bureaus sometime in 2015 per some of the other fellow myfico-ers on here. Since then, they report to agencies from the time the AU account is opened. If the AU has had an acct w Amex in the past or currently already a member, the physical card may show ‘’member since” and the year he/she first joined. Same w online profile.

Correct. March 21, 2015 to be exact. Very sad day in credit card history.

thanks for chime in guys. I were considering to applied for another AMEX card for backdate purpose but nvm ;-( that;s so sad...
