I have a question. Let's say that I have my Blue Cash Everyday with American Express, and now I want to apply for the Hilton card. Will it be a soft pull or hard pull ? Thanks everyone.

To the best of my knowledge once you are a member it is a soft pull for additional cards. I to have the BCE and when I apped for the ED card I don't recall getting a notification of an inquiry. Amex, as far as I know, will use their internal scoreing once you are a member.

EDIT: I just went back and looked at my report and can confirm that I did not receive an INQ for the second card.

Does it have a time frame, or it doesn't matter when i want a new card?

No time frame. Usually it can be sp though there have been exceptions. If your profile is iffy more likely a hp . Aa it's often said, always expect a hp and be happy when it isnt

A time frame for the SP? Not that I know of. I had the BCE for a couple months before I apped forthe ED card. In fact the first time I applied for it (ED) I was declined....assuming because the other acount was too new, I dunno. Not too long after I saw that I was pre-approved and apped again and was approved instantly. If the page reads something about 'Expanding your Membership' then it is most likely not a pre-approval. Likewise if it says 'Pre-Approved' then obviously you are pre-approved.

My experience has been each AMEX CC that I got included a HP. And I got about 6 of them into 2015.

Then when I got Delta Reserve in January 2018, no HP. This was via instaproval, and even credit line reallocation in that instant, from my Delta Platinum card.

So this may be a newer thing, but I can't vouch for whether all new AMEX cards are SP. As noted above, expect a HP, be glad if it is not.
