Question about BOA Graduation---Updated 4/9/09

I cant rememer when I applied for the 99/500 card but on my account it states. beginning balance as of 7/8/08. My first statement was cut on 8/6/08. When should I call to see if my card could graduate?

You could call now. I had the card and right at my 10th statement (9th payment), it unsecured on its own.

I have another question. Is it a hard pull or a soft pull when you call to unsecure your card? Also my birthday is in a couple of days so I thought I would call then and maybe they will have some sympathy for me and unsecure it & give me a generous cli.

when i unsecured mine last month it was a soft pull some people get a hard? Happy Birthday..

My card graduated last week after 11 months and it was a hard pull on TU. I called every month after 9th month.

it was a hard on TU which they did not tell me and they declined me to graduate.

i just called to see if my card would unsecure. It is a soft pull. She asked me to hold and came back and said Congrats!!!! your new credit limit is 1000. (I just signed into my bank of america account and it already shows up) I should receive my $99 back in 10-15 days. I didnt want to push it and ask for a product change. I will wait a few days and then call. She said that if I wanted a higher credit limit to call back in about 5-6 months. I called the backdoor number ending in 4696(she picked up on the first ring). I told her that she made my birthday great!!

Getting a product change or "upgrade" as BoFA likes to call it isn't a big deal. I received my new card yesterday and the only difference is it says "World Points". I also got a CLI to $1,000 when it unsecured. I'll definitely call back in 6 mths and request more. I haven't used the card in about 6 mths. I guess I better dust it off and use it at least once for utilization.
