Best Sign Up Bonuses

We are getting ready to do carpet in the upstiars of our house. Cost is roughly $6k. DW and I are looking for the most lucrative sign up bonus for the spend. We are ok with higher spend - we have vacation coming up next month so we could definitely hit $8k-$10k.

Her scores are as follows:

TU 808

EQ 798

EX 812

Income: $150k-ish

Her current cards:

CSP $37,300

Chase Marriott $20,000

Barclays Arrivel+ $15,000

Citi Simplicity $8,000

I don't think shes eligible for the CSR bonus because she already has CSP.

Any ideas?

It depends if you want travel or cash back. You mentioned she has the CSP. Can you get the CSR? How about going for the Amex Platinum if you are able to get the 100k bonus?

If you can use Avios, there's a BA promo on the Chase website:

Earn up to 100,000 bonus Avios
Earn 50,000 bonus Avios after you spend $3,000 on purchases within the first 3 months of account opening. Plus earn an additional 25,000 bonus Avios after you spend $10,000 on purchases within your first year of account opening, plus a further 25,000 Bonus Avios after you spend $20,000 total on purchases within your first year from account opening.

Amex Platinum 100k would also be great.

There is no right answer for everybody to a question like this. It really depends on your goals. 100k points sounds great but those points are useless if you are not going to have any redemptions in mind. Things like where you are based, where you want to travel to (international or domestic), the class of service you want to travel in, hotels you have status with etc are all factors.

USB Altitude Reserve has the same SUB as chase. Worth 750

That ignores transfer potential for URs.

I suppose it you want to interpret it that way.

It has the same 50K points which is what I was getting at and had a value of 750. Travel transfer partners have such varying value.

Since you're going to be spending about $8K, I'd look at maybe getting two cards. Which equals 2 SUBs at $3-4K each.

Though it seems you already have some of the cards with higher SUBs.

What about Venture and BOA Premium awards? 50k miles=3k spend for both.

However, Venture can only used for travel while Premium Awards can be used for anything.
