Not really suprising given the Amex ED card does everything this one does, and much more, for no fee as well. Don't know why this card has stuck around this long honestly.

I've been holding out in hopes that the PC path would change, particularly being able to PC to a cobranded card if it were possible. ED and EDP don't make great sense for my spend and current rewards strategy. Playing the waiting game to see how badly the reduced SPG earnings will affect me right now. Once the new categories are out, I'll have a much better idea of whether to continue as is, go the Chase route (if the ability to combine points goes away, that's likely out), go back to MRs as my primary currency (which would likely work well with a PC from Blue to EDP), switch loyalty to Hilton, switch to concentrating on Delta spend, switch to TYP (unlikely), or switch to maximizing cash back. So many options.

I know there are a handful of other people here with Blue from American Express, but I am pretty sure most of us have holdovers from around the turn of the century.

We’ll either be given a choice to upgrade to ED or EDP, or they’ll just be converted to ED.

Why change to a card you're still not going to use? Seems safer to just SD when you don't keep it active with some small charge until the bank forces a change/closure.

I should know better than reading the forums here...(get too many ideas)

After reading this thread, I thought I would just go ahead and product change from my Blue to an ED card. Did that via chat. Kept the APR and 2000 opening date.

Later in the day I saw the offer for 10,000 MR points for $1,000 spend, 0% no fee BT for 15 months and 0% interest for 15 months on puchases. On my account page it said I was pre-approved, so I pulled the trigger.

After confirming it was my application via text code, was instant approved for $25,000. After looking at all my cards, I saw that they pulled credit from a different card to my new ED (basically adding $7,700 in new available credit). So not really $25,000 in new credit but works for me.

The last time I inquired, the options for product changes only included moving within the Blue-ED-EDP family.

Also, when I was setting up the AMEX they did offer 10% CB on Cell Phone Bills through July. Was using my USBANK 5%

He's talking about the Blue card.

Getting rid of the Blue makes sense being there is no reason for it to exist with the Everyday card, but I see them keeping the Blue Cash as their cash back line of cards.
