clicked on bestbuy email for credit increase and it went through without me being able to give info?

if what im reading is correct bestbuy does hard pulls?

the email said i needed to provide some info so i clicked on it to hopefully read some terms and nothing. just a message saying wait for 7-10 days for a decision.

i don't want a hard pull and didn't even need to do a credit increase. if they did a hard pull can i somehow contest it?

In my experience (DW has had the card for about 22 years but never asked for a CLI until 2 years ago), Citi does a HP for store card CLIs. However, since yours seems to have been an email invitation for one, I'm not sure.

From my experience they are always a hard pull. I clicked it once online and I got a message that I needed to call them.

When I called I was told it would be a hard pull since I submitted it already. I will be cancelling this card before the next annual fee hits.

I wasn't even aware Citi had Best Buy cards with annual fees. Was that a legacy card that got acquired by Citi? DW has had the store card for ages and that has no AF. Citi has pestered me for a while about applying for the Visa version, but I don't recall seeing anything about an AF.

One old version did not sure which lender this came from and a version or two didnt depending on credit/profile. no longer an af obviously that are newly issued

I still have my BB store card(not Visa) that is 17y 6mo old and still with the original limit. I refuse to take a HP for an increase. I don't use it like I once did. It does not have an annual fee. IIRC, didn't HSBC first run this card....then Cap One....now Citi? BTW, in all that time I have never had an email offer for an increase.

Yes, DW's was an HSBC account when opened in 1996. It was later sold to CapOne. Strangely when CapOne sold it to Citi, it became listed on her reports as a closed account (with original 1996 opening date), but is also listed as an open account with Citi (with the original 1996 opening date).

Did the email log you into anything? Or did it redirect you to the Bestbuy credit application page(which then probably redirects to the lender website)? If none of this happened or you didn't have to enter any information, at the very least the last 4 of your ssn, you probably didn't get any sort of credit inquiry.

@K this is from their terms available on the website. They have terms for a store card, Visa Platinum, and Visa Gold

Wow, I didn't realize there was even what appears to be a subprime version of the Visa card. 11.9% for 48 months for "select purchases" and an annual fee?

11.9% on select purchases for 48 months shows on the T&C for every version of the card on top of the deferred interest. No thanks lol.
