Just thought this might help those who are rebuilding but dont have the scores and history and dont want to take a chance with apps but still would like that store mix etc. I think this is the easiest store card to get.

I checked online and was pre-approved for the Spiegel card (mid 500s FICOs and 3-4 baddies) I went ahead and applied for various reasons on March 16th.

I received the card in a week.

Today, the A/C posted on my EX and none of my CRs have registered a hard pull yet.

This A/C has not posted on my other two bureau reports but again EX is the first to update information every month on my A/Cs.

Wow... I applied and was approved a week later. Received the card but nothing has reported on my CRA yet and I have both TU Motioning and Score Watch.

WFNNB is an easy bank to get in and they have a ton of stores they back.....

so if not pre-approved, is it worth applying?

sounds like pre-approval gets you approved without inq vs if you apply yourself?

I had an Express card that was in my BK

but recently got a Venue card through pre-approval with no credit check

If you got a Venue account then you are good for any WFNNB/WFCB cards but with no pre-approval you will have an EX pull...

ill just hold off on testing your good to go thinking and wait until I pay off my venue card... I'm taking advantage of the 6 month interest free and trying to build some history with them for CLI at the same time.

Hi Tiff,

Were you pre-approved or did you do a cold app? I had mixed information at the time I was applying (after being pre-approved). Some folks seemed to have hard inqs. I had called the CSRs at spiegel and they told me its a guaranteed hard pull. But after waiting this long, Ive decided its a soft.

Cold app... I suppose. I followed the link I found on this site... I didn't think it would be approved, but after everyone said it would be a soft then, what the hell. I daily pull my reports from CreditCheck Total and there is no inquiry. The last inquiry I show is Target when I applied and was approved on the 17th.

Tiff... your first post said you were pre-approved... then in the last post you said you did cold app.

If you clicked the link for pre-approve and they offered you a card then that's pre-approved, if I applied it would be cold app because the pre-approval link says there are no codes for me.

I checked it for myself, partner, and both my mom and dad... none of us are pre-approved and our scores range from very similar to you up to like 750. I don't get the system!

That makes no sense at all... as you can see my scores absolutely tank. I only own sub-prime cards with no limit over $450...... No CLI (ever) across the board on neither of them. Unless they saw that I had no store cards on my file at all I have no idea. Unable to obtain a secured from a bank....
