Citi Costco Anywhere Visa is a Signature card!

I just got my card in the mail and was surprised to find that the Citi Costco anywhere Visa card is actually a Visa signature card! I did not see this anywhere on the website and I have not found that anywhere using Google so I am pleased and pleasantly surprised.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, it's a signature only if your credit line is 5000.00 or more.

All Chase Amazon Visas are Signature cards, even though their credit limits go all the way down to $500.

Mine has $4,000 on it and its a siggy.... I always assumed they all must be then. Odd.

No, that's not accurate. As others have posted Visa Signature cards can have as low as a $500 limit.

I just looked at my $4K Citi Costco Visa card and it does NOT have the word "Signature" written below the Visa Logo.

Citibank was one of the first banks to, in my opinion, "devalue" World, World Elite MasterCard and Visa Signature by offering them to people with less than $5K credit lines. Now all the banks are doing it. BofA might have been one of the last hold outs but I think even they might be doing it too.

The higher level the card (ie World/World Elite, Signature/Infinite) the higher the swipe/dip fee is for the bank. It helps pay for the rewards. MasterCard US and Visa USA don't even talk about Gold cards anymore and with US Bank entering into the Visa Infinite arena soon, I expect we will see more Visa Infinite popping up on higher level cards, leaving Signature to be the old Platinum/Gold cards of yore.

Regardless, the above was just for clarification, not to rain on OP's parade. Congrats on your approval and rake in that cash back!

Mine started @ $2200 after CITI took over from Amex, it has since grown to $7k, it was a siggy right from the start at $2.2k.

Hmm..I thought visa signature had to be at least $5k or the benefits would not kick in. Same for Visa infinite you need 10k minimum. I think I heard this point in an AskSeby YT video comparing the festures. Can any one confirm if this is the case?

Lenders have discretion to issue specific products in various CL thresholds, whether it's VS, VI, WMC or WEMC.

For instance, Capital One's GM BuyPower card can typically be issued as a WEMC with a $500 SL whereas Saks Fifth Avenue WEMC can only be issued with a minimum $5K SL.

Citi, USB, BOA, and Chase are other examples of lenders that can have certain products within their own ecosystems that can be issued in a variety of flavors depending on UW criteria and product type.

Mine's not VS.

At the time I PCed to Costco, the CL was under $5k. I got a SP CLI to put me over $5k, but no VS.

Not that I'm bothered. The good benefits on it come from Citi, not Visa.

I just applied for the card and got approved for 8k. Having had the Chase Sapphire Reserve and its Visa Infinite logo, I came across this post in search of info to see if it was a Visa Signature card as it was above 5k. I'll update this post if it's not a 'siggy' when it arrives in 7-10 business days.

FICO 8: 720 via Experian, 11% Utilization, 105k Income.

CSR 10.5k , (Citi Costco 8k), Nordstrom 4.3k, Amex Everyday 2k, Fingerhut 1.5k, Cap1 Journey 1k, Cap1 Platinum 750, Discover IT 500, Macy's 300.

It was 8000 then, and since I always PIF before a statement cuts it remains 8000....I practicly never get CLI's on any cards, but always get approval due to high score and most of my SL's are between 10k and 15k. Once they see I am a strict transactor and never pay a cent in interest they will find a reason to deny CLI's. Often something like....You have not used enough of your existing credit with us to warrant a credit limit increase. Strict transactors are secretly called deadbeats by the credit card issuers, they pay us SUB's and rewards, and all they ever get is merchant transaction fees. No way the issuers make money off of me...many cards are relegated to the proverbial sock drawer after getting their 200 dollar bribe. I might should feel guilty...but nah...it is their game, I just play it well.
