Synchrony has consistently reported my balance change multiple times a month. It makes it impossible for me to stay on top of the balance reported. Has anyone else ran across this issue? I've had my balance reported for my JcPenney card 3 times this month.

I believe I could understand that; however, none of those things have occured for me. They have done it every month I've had their cards. No changes have been made on my part at all. Just found it odd. They are the only bank to report my balance more than once a month. It seems to be everytime I make a new purchase.

I noticed recently they also reported the entire balance on my Walmart MC. Not just the statement balance.
Like most lenders. Honestly it doesn't bother me either way. As long as it doesn't kill my utilization.

Interesting.....my JCP card and Chevron card only report once a month after statement cut. It does not matter what other activity I have during the billing period. However I have heard on here, from other posts that they do report multiple times per month for some account holders.

Many of my Sync cards will wait til I h as ve a balance . I can't make a payment until its posts and by that time they report it to the bureau. It can be frustrating. You may not want anything reporting but never works out that way, especially on my Smazon.

Reporting the balance before it's even available for me to pay on it. It is very frustrating. However, it is only doing this on my JcPenney's card. I wonder if this will be the trend for this card for the entirety of my owning it.

I first got my Amazon store card to finance a new computer purchase. The PC was ~1300 and the limit was 1500. I was going to pay down a large chunk of it when it posted so no biggie, right? Wrong. Sync reported the $1300 balance what seemed like immediately.

I think there might have been a misunderstanding earlier. When I said Sync reported my new PayPal MC twice to EX this month, what I meant was that they reported the creation of the account twice, not the current balance. I've never seen this happen for any other card I've opened, whether Sync or not.

It annoying but in the long run they are probably doing you a favor.. I got caught with a 10k balance on a 12k cl once thanks to the reporting off cycle along with lowes reporting off cycle as well.. Usually with big purchases is when they off cycle report, but in the long run other lenders see this and see it paid down and bigger CL's in the future with other lenders so indirectly you might take a score ding in short term in long term it will benefit you in my opinion.

If Synchrony is doing this to you and you truly want a zero balance to report, then push a payment from your bank account that'll create a credit big enough to cover your pending purchases (and do it as often as you like). In my expereince, Synchrony will let a credit linger for 2-3 months before they issue a refund check. This is the only sure way to make sure you don't get dinged for mid-cycle reporting if having a zero balance is truly that important to you.

I personally don't like that since most all other cards swing your payments thru and immediately put it up on the board as a done deal. Nothing grinds me worse then stall tactics. The off-cycle just seems a scheme of sorts and not one i'm sure pays them any extra dividends but can turn some people off with the way that's handled. In better times for them past, they never bothered with off cycle. But it is what it is and another reason i rarely use mine as often as before.
