CreditOne phone # and CLI causing $250 cash advance charge?!?!

Hi all,

does anyone have an actual PHONE # for reachine CreditOne?

All I can find in my online interface are fraud/lost card #s and snail mail addresses for disputes/questions

My issue is that I received a CLI offer a couple months back and decided to go ahead an pull the trigger on it.

Then when I log in to pay my bill today, expecting to see the $30ish charge they had said I would incur for the CLI, I see a $250 CASH ADVANCE charge for the same day in Las Vegas. I can only assume that they somehow mistakenly charged me a cash advance (I wasnt even IN Las Vegas) in addition to the CLI fee (it happened the same day).

Has anyone ever heard of this occurring, and again are there numbers to call aside from just the postal mail to dispute?

Welcome to the forums. It sounds like you do need to actually call the fraud department. I can’t imagine that the charge for that would code that way.

Yes. They often charge cardholders a fee of up to $49 to increase their credit line. And most cards lack a grace period so all charges begin to accrue interest immediately.

Shouldn't the card have a number on the back? It's CreditOne so you never know.

There isn’t a fee to call credit one or atleast there wasn’t when I had my card 6 months ago.

Call 1-877-825-3242
The phone line for customer service isn’t 24/7. They do have more limited hours but I believe if you call that number and say fraud or lost/stolen card. You will get an actual person on the phone after normal business hours.

OP does need to call them ASAP. They will be huge PITA to deal with so be prepared.

It’s a Toll FEE Number. Similar to spoofing Capital One logo design, the Credit One fine print includes agreeing to pay for customer service.

my error.

the same day I gave them the go-ahead for the CLI, I deposited a check they had sent that had promoted the CLI and had mentioned (in fine print) that the check ($250) would be a cash advance - this had actually just slipped my mind......

You should never take a cash advance from any prime bank and especially not credit one.

You’re probably paying 35% interest on that amount and it starts the minute the check was deposited

yea, I was distracted that day and making a bank deposit anyway and the promo wording on the check was all about the CLI, so I just spaced it.

They got over on me for a few dollars in interest but I just paid it off.

Mea Culpa - I will pay closer attention in the future.

What other cards do you have? If you have more than 3 other cards that are not in the predatory variety, I would consider shutting this one down completely.

2 other active cards and the creditone is a holdover from olden days. sentimental value LOL. I use it once a month to keep it open and active.

You're paying fees (probably the only one to charge CLI fee) left and right on a predatory card you hardly use just to keep it open for "sentimental value"? For reals? First time I ever heard someone emotionally attached to CreditOne, no wonder predatory lenders continue to thrive lol.

If I were you, I would drop them as soon as feasible, even if it's your oldest card.
