Chase Amazon Prime Visa 0% BT offer

I got an email from Chase this morning with a 0% BT offer on my Amazon Prime Visa.

0% APR until October 2019, 4% transfer fee with a $5 minimum.

Has anyone else gotten one of these? I don't have any balances worth transferring so I'll pass, and my limit is too low to really take advantage of it anyway, but it's good to know they do offer these.

I just got the same offer on my FU (But not F). I don't have any balances to transfer and the 4% fee is still higher than NFCU, though I've not seen a 0% offer from Chase on a rewards card before.

Too bad I can't trade in this offer for an auto-CLI!

I got the email but didn't even bother logging into the Chase site to see what I had.

4% is even worse than I thought, but my only real balance is already sitting on my HELOC currently at 4.75% so, well, no thanks heh. That balance isn't going to last long anyway.

Got the offer in email today also. Had to sign into account and go to balance transfers to see terms. 4% fee is a deal killer for me. Still it is nice to get offers from Chase. I am just passing on this one.

In my (nearly) two years with Chase, I've never even had the option to do a BT, much less a 0% promotion.

Seeing this thread I figured I'd check again just for 'grins', and what do you know... I've got the offer on my Amazon and my IHG.

I agree with most others that the 4% fee makes this a non-starter (same as my WF Propel... 4% there as well) but now I know I at least have the option.

Note: I didn't get an email.

I've been with Chase 5 yrs and they've done this yearly. I am currently taking advantage of a BT on my Amazon. They sent me more offers for Amazon(again), Slate, and AARP. The only 3 cards I have with them.

The fees are now 4%. The BT I took advantage of was 2%.

I got paper mailers for my Hyatt card. ($12k limit) and Freedom card ($1.500 limit)

3% fee on each. The only Chase BT offers I have gotten in many years after paying down several balances that Chase adopted through mergers.

Might do the $5 fee minimum just for grins, but I use both cards kind of regularly

Oh I agree, @UncleB, the promo isnt anything special, I just wanted my relationship taken to the next level with Chase. I feel like we are still in the "texting" stage, LOL!!

I received the bt email offer on my Marriott rewards card. I called to find out the details and the rep mentioned that any payments made go towards the balance transfer and there isn’t a way to pay the original amount on the card until the bt is paid off. Can anyone else confirm this?

That sounds to me like you'd be charged interest on any purchases made on the card after the BT. A lot of cards work this way... they apply payments to the lowest APR balance first. The best bet in this situation is to use the BT card *only* for the BT, not using it for anything else until the BT is paid off.
