Chase Product transfer HP?

Hello guys,

If you do a Chase product change, say from CSP to CSR, will they do a hard pull?

My current/new CSP has a $5k credit line. I'm thinking I'll upgrade it to the CSR after 1 year.

I'm still new to credit cards. My current combined credit limit across all cards is $7,900.

By the time I would switch to CSR, would I possibly be approved for the $10k credit line with the CSR?

current transunion score is about 730.

Not a hard pull for PC, but seeing that your cl on the csp is 5K and the minimum on the csr is 10k you would most likely be looking at a hard pull for a cli if you don't receive an auto cli of at least 5K before your card reaches a year. Hope that makes sense. Also all credit profiles are different. Your score isn't bad but history and credit limits are low so it's unsure what affect that would have on you pc approval a year from now.

Interesting OP.

A simple PC is not a HP at Chase, I just converted a Slate to Freedom Unlimited this year, no HP.

In your case, though, I think there is a HP waiting for you, no matter the path you choose:

1 ) Ask for CLI to try to get over $10k —> HP

2 ) Ask for upgrade, Chase demands the CLI —> HP

3 ) PC to Freedom or F Unl to free up the one Sapphire slot for a new CSR app —> HP

In summary, there is a hard pull in your future -- but that doesn't have to be a bad thing.
