Citi TYP conversion denied, approved a week later

Called a week ago to convert the citi TYP card to the double cash and the CSR was adament i did not "qualify". I hung up and pondered about just closing the card. Gave it one last try today and the CSR was more than willing to convert to the double cash. From the DPs on this forum I knew it was a possibility! Dont take no for an answer!

Thanks for the tip... one of these days when I'm in the mood to talk to a CSR I'm going to call to see about PCing my Diamond Preferred to a Double Cash. I'm already expecting a similar situation to what you're describing here.

For the record, twice I've tried to do the PC over chat and both times I was told to call.

Thanks for the tip... one of these days when I'm in the mood to talk to a CSR I'm going to call to see about PCing my Diamond Preferred to a Double Cash. I'm already expecting a similar situation to what you're describing here.

For the record, twice I've tried to do the PC over chat and both times I was told to call.

I received a bonus match on my premier just by using the chat feature. Maybe use that? The CSR was actually very willing to help.

Haha, I missed that part. I assume it all depends on the experience of the CSR and willingness to help. But granting 10k points and doing a PC seem like relatively equivalent tasks.

I also recently converted from TYP to DC. The account has to be open for 1 year to be eligible for conversion. Being very eager for a product change, I first called 2 weeks earlier and was told by the csr that I am not eligible yet but will be when my card marks exactly 12 months. 2 weeks later called and the csr read me all the disclosures and what not and the account change was immediately reflected online, account number also stayed the same.They even expedited the card for me as it arrived in the mail in 3 days, didn't even ask for that service lol.

Remember the Citi CSRs are like many and can't be relied on. Go to the Executive Offices if you get a "NO" ... back a few years Citi was saying no a lot. I said phooey and contact the Executive Offices. They made the p/c happen (took a couple of days and they even called me to inform me the p/c was being done - shock) for a Citi Card with TY Points change to the DC.
