topic Amex and Paypal scrutiny question.. in Credit Cards

I've seen posters mention that Amex can be sketchy, or put extra scrutiny on transactions through Paypal/Ebay if it appears that manufactured spending or stealth cash advances might be happening. I think it's probably much to do about nothing but here's my situation: I just paid off a $3800 balance on my Platinum two days ago. Something popped up on Ebay that I want... and you guessed it... the purchase price is $3800. Do you think Amex might flag this since the amounts are equal and are happenning within two or three days of each other? I've had the card for almost 2 years and it's not a local purchase..if that matters. Paranoid?

Should be no problem whatsoever as long as the person you're sending money to isn't you, your own business, or someone that can be personally linked to you. I have honestly done thousands of PayPal transactions using Amex cards over the past 16 years with zero problems.
