Disappointing bonus IMO was hoping for 120-125k. Even though already have will just stick with my business spg card and probably not nab the personal or this version of personal. Obviosuly has a market for alot, just not me currently.. Like the spend bonuses on the business better

Couldn’t find the card directly from americanexpress.com but the link from DoctorofCredit is working. He does state that the bonus is less than what was rumored it would be by 25k points and probably will go up in the future. However, for many of us this 3 day window is the only opportunity to grab the card. The SUB is worth >$800 so nothing to sneeze at. Hefty AF but if you stay at Starwood/Marriott locations, this card will be useful

It's on Amex website now. 100k for 5k is steep and if you have Amex plat this card offers nothing. The $300 credit cannot be used for room cost and the only meal I eat at a Hotel restaurant is breakfast and I don't have to prepay $300 for breakfast with Hilton, lol!

I'd rather save $450 than get a free night. This card should of offered Plat Elite status some how, maybe by getting rid of the $300 credit.

Nice Quickdrawirish....That happened w/ my Hilton card and when I did get the card I requested a CLI to 20k and did get approved.

That'll never happen anytime soon. It's clear from the changes that Marriott is marketing towards the people who actually stay at their hotels and not just get automatic status through cards (AMEX Platinum and RC). Throw me in the group that is slightly disappointed in the inital SUB though even if I wasn't going to fresh app this card. I would have figured at least initially it would have been at the minimum 125k considering the hefty AF that comes with it.

I've never had a hotel card because I'm pretty hotel agnostic but this card seems dissappointing. I expected something closer to the Hilton Aspire which has benefits that would justify having it even with the Platinum if I stayed at Hilton properties. I do like to stay at Ritz-Carlton...Maybe someone can tell me what I'm missing here? What is worth the $450?

Well I have 28 nights YTD, I guess they don't money anymore. I cancelled 5 more and moved them to Hilton, I will never get to 50 nights because I use Hilton and FHR for some of my stays. So I did actually stay at their hotels and now I will use Hilton and Rocketmiles for MR points for my Hotel needs in the future.

And Marriott will probably be fine with that IMO they're pretty clear on who/what they're targetting. I had thought of getting the Hilton Aspire but their reward structure when redeeming award stays leaves a lot to be desired. I think there's a lot merit nowadays to not even being hotel loyal like you are. I know I've certainly think about it more and more especially with the fustercluck that has been this merger so far. And tbh going AMEX Plat/FHR and CSR for hotel spend is looking good some days here.

I think that Amex will definitely bump up the SUB down the road and probably pretty soon. They’re very aware that many of us had to apply during the 3 day window so there wasn’t a whole lot of incentive on their part to offer a huge bonus right now. I certainly would wait if you’re not going to be restricted by the new rules coming on the 26th

AMEX is blocking me from applying for/offering me this card No Luxury SPG for you! (Prolly since I recently got the ED and my EX tanked) Which is okay since I'm hoping for a Super-Premium Ritz card from AMEX appearing sometime.

Where are you reading in the T&C that the $300 can't be used for room rates? I don't see anything indicating that and I chatted with AMEX and they told me the $300 could be used for room rates.
