All Citi PreQuals give specific APR

I checked the prequal site for Citi hoping that the Costco Card still popped up. Not only did Citi offer me the Costco card with a specific rate (as I think it always does at 16.99%), it also offered me 4 other cards (TY Preferred, TY Premier, Simplicity, and Diamond Preferred) all with specific APR rates.

What are my chances of getting that Costco card? I'm thinking pretty good based on the specifics on the other cards, but I'm just not confident. All FICOs at a point or two below 700. No baddies. $130k+ salary. One card has a high balance, but otherwise I practice AZEO. High limit is $21k+ with NFCU and you can find my other cards in my siggy.

What do you think?

A hp is just a hp, if you want it go for it getting 5 prequels is awesome, I can't even get one anywhere so my advice is if its what you want shoot for it. Worse that happens is a hp and you know where you stand

But we all know this is all about strategy for some people... like me. I'd also like to go for Chase's Amazon card (I already have the Freedom with a CL of $9k) and I want to make sur ei pull the trigger on the same day. Spree-ish, I know. LOL

I think you got a good chance!

I subscribed to Citi’s scorecard. By the end, I had all 4 of Citi's branded cards showing and AAdvantage Gold showing. Apped for Costco at the warehouse and approved.

+1 to AJC. On the very off chance it isn't approved it'll hurt your feelings and maybe drop you a few small points but it's just a HP

The Costco CC does not have an APR range, that is the actual variable APR for all applicants. IIRC, you had asked a very similar question on the odds not long ago.

OP, it sounds like you really want these cards and have a good shot at approval. App and see what happens. It CAN'T ACTUALLY hurt that bad. Hurt feelings and upset yes absolutely I get that completely, but you can't approved without apping buddy. Go for it and let us know.

With Citi I got the 7-10 day message.

Chase Amazon approved me with a lousy $3600

And now to figure out how to be successful with my first recon for a higher CL (you'll see that post coming soon).

7-10 doesn't mean you're denied. Hopefully the one CC reporting a balance, is more than a few dollars. Or your recon may go up in flames. lol

Maybe you won't need to recon though. It's not unusual for Citi to give a 7-10. It does mean a UW will be going over your credit file. Which isn't an AZEOer's best friend.

Congratulations on the Amazon! SLs run a little low on that card from data posted here. So yours isn't out of line.

I always get offered the Costco card myself whenever I check Citi's prequal site, though I don't know if Citi actually has the information that I'm a Costco member in their files. I'm hesitant to apply for it since (1) I'm in the garden and shouldn't be app'ing for anything anyway, (2) there's the issue of my BK which might impede me even though I know a good many people have been able to get this cobranded card even with having burned Citi in BK's, and (3) if I do get it, there's a very strong chance I may be dropped in a bucket that I won't be able to CLI my way back up out of again. In sum, I'm not sure it's worth the trouble when I'm planning to try for a NFCU card (I want CashRewards particularly but will take their cobranded Amex or GoRewards) that I should have much better chances on getting after half a year or more in the garden, at least one other HP having dropped off completely and the vast majority of my remaining HP's being over one year old.

I called 1-800-695-5171 (New App Status appears US Based w decision ability) and confirmed a few details and they gave me an $8000 CL at 16.99%

Yep! Approved! For *both*!!

I don't know, man. I didn't like the star wars prequels so I wouldn't be happy with 5 of them.
