Nordstrom Store Card Upgrade Approved

Thought I'd share, had store card since June 2017, current cl 9k, current ex FICO 713, called several times to upgrade card, was told upgrades not being offered. This morning I called again and was upgraded in less than 1 minute to Visa siggy, said 7-10 days for card to arrive.

Thank you for the heads up RPRISCO! Nordstrom temporarily stopped making these upgrades last year, about 15 seconds before I found out they were possible. I saw your post, so I phoned. Instantly upgraded from store card to Visa and given a 5K limit increase.

Congrats on the upgrade. Any idea as to which burea Nordstrom pulls for a department store card and what was your initial limit relative to your FICO?

Experian and limit probably has to do with FICO and overal profile.. See some 2k initial approvals and 5k ones as well from the approval section

On the phone right now and am getting the upgrade as we speak. The only thing I didn't like was that it will change to a different account but that's ok. I'm just glad I can upgrade to the Visa card which was my goal in the first place with this card.

Totally just saw this and called in (so thanks for posting this!). They instantly upgraded me to the Visa Signature from the store card. So happy they lifted the ban on upgrading!

thanks for the heads up .....just got upgraded to VISA Platinum from the store card...credit limit stayed at $3500.

Another update,and caution to those who use heavy and pif b4 statement cuts, my credit reports changed mid cycle to reflect flexible spending account, with original open date and cl stayed at 9k. Received the card, activated and bought gas. It works.

You all are lucky or maybe I am unlucky?? Anyway, have had the card a couple years with a $7000 limit.

Called for upgrade 10 days or so ago... not eligible. The rep was “indifferent” to say the least... not the normally level of service they provide.

Got the denial letter... denied because of my payment history with the account. I have never ever ever ever missed a payment on this card or any current card I have and no Kate payment son my credit reports. Definitely calling Monday to see what’s up.

Bummer! How often do you use the card? Carry extended balances? I would definitely call as you plan to. Good luck!

Glad I found this post. I’m going to call to upgrade today. Do you keep your same tradeline history or is it a new account? Did they pull a report?

In my experience, I kept my history but they issued me a new card with a new card number.

Thanks JAG73 for the info. I just got off the phone and an upgrade is not available for me. My limit is $2k but my credit has improved. Maybe that hasn’t reflected on their end. I wonder what is needed to receive an invitation/offer? The rep suggested I go in store and apply, I’m defintely not doing that!
