Second Amex delta gold card?

Appd and got 1k instance Amex gold delta card about 3-4 weeks ago. Ran about 700$ thru it and pif already - no statement has cut yet. It’s my first Amex and my scores aren’t amazing (see sig).

Read on here you can get multiple amexs in a short time and was playing around w Amex prequal and it says I prequal for Amex gold delta (same card as I have) w 50k mile sub (as far as I know I didn’t get any sub with my current Amex).

Don’t really need more new cards but also wanna move up with Amex as much as possible so another Amex card, if possible and with a good SL, doesn’t sound terrible.

First, can one person have multiple Amex gold delta cards?

Second, does this make sense to app for this? Will it just make me look desperate?

Thoughts?

Did you ask Amex is they can give you the/a SUB? It's weird that you didn't get any.

There’s absolutely no point in getting another Gold Delta card.

Since you aready have that card, you are not eligible to receive a SUB. This is still true even if you never received a SUB when you first applied for the card.

With that being said, I’ve never not heard of someone getting atleast the standard SUB for any Delta cards. I don’t think I’ve ever heard of the Delta cards being part of Amex’s “credit steps” so you should have received some sort of SUB. Hop on Amex chat and ask them which welcome offer is applied to your card account. The minimum offer is 30K in Miles and goes up to 60K with a lot of different combinations in spend & statement credits

Indeed, the fine print is almost always "if you have or have had this card," not "if you ever received a bonus on this card." If you want a SkyMiles bonus, go for Delta Platinum the next time that the 70k offer comes up or if you can justify the annual fee, Delta Reserve currently has a 70k offer on Delta's website (have not seen it on Amex yet).

You should at some point, contact Amex and ask where the SUB is at, or what if any is being offered.

OP if you have only spent $700 then you aren’t to the first level to see whether you got a SUB. Wait until you spend more than $1k and the next statement after that. You likely will get miles.

Don’t apply for another Delta Gold card. In fact, just keep using this card for the next year. Your internal score with AMEX will continue to improve.

Remember, credit is a marathon, not a sprint.

i didnt know there was a chat feature on the amex site and now that it was mentioned i've located it and i'll chat em up to see what if any sub i have.

just as a quick update, chat w/amex says i have the 50k miles after 1k spent in the first 92 days. should be at 1k here this week already.
