What Visa Sig card are you using for car rentals? Are you renting in the USA or internationally? I assume your card was issued in the USA.

I am concerned you may be confusing strong domestic-and-international rental benefits Chase offers on a few Visa Signature/Infinite cards with weaker only-effective-when-international benefits Visa provides. Other banks may provide the stronger form of benefits domestically but it's not common and certainly not by default for Visa.

I've gotten a few little discounts, nothing much or that I couldn't have gotten through some other method. I tried the concierge a while ago and found it disappointing because the concierge told me they only accepted a narrow range of tasks (dinner reservations, tickets, easily located gifts).

Just curious as to how they are doing in 2018 - if people find any issues (for example car insurance, which I reject when travelling saying i have the protection on the card - really curious when push comes to shove if I will be covered). Just in general if you use your siggy perks, please post.

I have BOA visa and sun country visa.

And yes rentals were international.

So we can get advance tickets? Or is this only Amex?

Anyone else?

It would vary depending on which BoA card you have.

I don’t know anything about the other one.

I think certain concierges can get general concert or event tickets. I’ve never used a visa signature one, only the visa infinite.
But pre-sale tickets are limited to card issuers that have those programs. Amex, Citi, capital one all have those sort of programs.

I get primary rental car coverage through USB so I’ve always declined the excess waiver. I’ve never had to use it but I imagine that as long as the rental falls inside the guidelines they would have to pay out on it. It’s always underwritten by some other insurance company and not visa itself. It depends on the issuing bank.

Don't focus on the "signature" perks described on Visa's website. Focus on the specific benefits listed on your bank's website for the exact credit card you will be using.

JPMR is a little better but requires having $10 million at Chase, so "top" in that card family isn't accessible for most people.

Amex Platinum (and Centurion for people spending millions a year) has more in the way of comfort and light luxury travel-related perks.
