Discover Deals is ending soon

We've decided to retire Discover Deals as we focus on simpler and more meaningful ways to earn rewards. Any pending rewards will be added to your account as usual.

Thank you for your loyalty. Keep an eye out for exiting things to come and don't forget, you're always earning rewards on every purchase with your Discover card.

I used that portal a few times. It did seem quite high compared to alternatives. A shame they're dumping the whole program, though.

Of course, they're increasingly an interest-earning general consumer finance company, rather than a fee-earning card company.

I didn't get an email, but I did see it on their Discover Deals page.

I surely hope they replace it with something and aren't just minimizing rewards with no replacement.

I always check the deals and compare with other portals to see which is better. Usually Discover since one of my cards is in its cashback match year.

Will miss deals at Apple and Neiman's the most...

Another discover nerf.
The only desirable thing left about discover is the BT/0% APR offers.

Maybe it’s a good thing my discover CL is by far the lowest. The only reason it’s even still open is that it’s my oldest open account and it’s nice getting a free TU score.

I will miss getting 10% back on my iPhone purchases although that was ending anyway as my fiancé’s account just hit a year a couple days ago.

I've got the combined pain of a joint account (thin file days, already had a Freedom but was a checking customer with Chase).

CLI requests are a pain and no way to merge logins. And yet, the card is unremarkable enough that I've no interest in applying for a new one.

I use it for 5%, but other than that, just tiny stuff to keep it active. I'd never put anything serious on it.

Like a few others I only used Discover Deals a few times for small things, but apparently it was too good for them to continue to offer. I'll especially miss the Sam's Club membership deal... it gave me (effectively) $10 off my membership renewal each year.

I do hope they are serious when they mention, "Keep an eye out for exciting things to come...", otherwise they risk becoming a BT card and little more.

Discover Card talked previously about how they were offering more to their cards after nerfing the travel benefits. I must have missed the additional benefits add? Now eliminating the Discover Card Deals leaves but a shell of the original Discover IT (and other cards before that). Yes, they still have no foreign transaction fees but, many of us have that option available on other credit cards products so would I use a Discover Card for that? Probably not. Do use the balance transfers offers the most. As to 1% and 5% categories for me, not so much.

No email here yet. That sucks. I would’ve loved to use the 10% Apple deals if I could apply it to upgrading to iPhone X for my wife and I. That would’ve been some good savings 😕

You had to know you were going to use the apple deal during pre-order for the IPhones as discover adds the language that the iPhone XS, Xr is excluded. It wasn’t like that a couple weeks ago. Same thing happened last year. It was added right around pre-order time.
