Discover Q4 Rewards

Hello everyone, I have a quick question regarding the wholesale clubs category for the Discover It this quarter. I have an expired Sam's Club membership card, and I was wondering if I were to renew the membership (which I last remember was $45ish) and pay with my Discover card will I get the 5% bonus? Thanks in advance!!

I was in this exact situation in Jan this year when I got my first Disco card. But when I went into Sam's to renew my expired by two years membership they told me to app the Sam's Club MC and get the $45 membership free as a statement credit and I got a $20 gift card as there was a coupon in the Sunday coupons.

Also, if you have Amex, check the Amex deals section. They sometimes have some pretty good offers for cash back on Sams memberships.

The 'short' answer is that this quarter anything rung up on a Sam's Club cash register (membership, optometry, pharmacy, etc.) or purchased through Samsclub.com will earn 5% cash back on Discover.

If you renew your membership online it might be iffy (I've not seen any data points) but if you renew in-store with your Discover it will earn 5% for certain.

Edited to add: Be sure to print off the Discover Deal to get your $10 gift card ($25 for Plus) when you renew. You're supposed to pay with Discover for it to work but at my store this is never enforced, so if there's a deal with Amex, etc. they might stack. It looks like the Discover Deal is no longer available.

I just looked as well and it appears they've pulled it... it was previously good through the end of the year.

Apparently with the program winding down they are already culling the existing offers.
