Hey guys, just thought id mention an interesting Amex i saw today on my BCE. Spend $200 on Amex giftcards get $10 back in statement credit. I know lots of you enjoy buying giftcards.

Get a one-time $10 statement credit by using your enrolled Card to spend a minimum of $200+ in one or more transactions online at AMEXGIFTCARD.COM by 12/31/2018. See terms for exclusions.

Last I looked at them, there were some significant purchase fees. Are those waived, too?

Just checked, and the fee on a $200 gift card is $6.95. So there is a small amount of savings there. However, if you choose to split it up into smaller cards, that all disappears into the fees ($3.95 per for $25, $5.95 per for $100, etc).

Still, if you're a person that buys them for gifts anyway, this may be a worthwhile offer.

@Anonymous it should read "Not considered manufactured spending if it's our own Amex gift cards for Xmas!" Good catch there @Anonymous, the fee definitely makes it an almost break even deal though. I'll stick to a few dollar store gifts.
