Need help NFCU Flag Ship or CSP/CSR

OK so rebuilding my credit and In the process of getting the last 2 collections off my report. I know that Chase dosen't like to be the first who gives you a hight limit. I and just got approived for a 10K Cash rewards through NFCU. Now I only have 1 more spot for "5/24". So my question is is a CSP/CSR worth it or should I just have my eyes set on the NFCU Flagship. Once i get these last 2 baddies off my report I fugure I should be in the 680-700 range with a 7% utilization. I was also looking at the Alliant Visa Signature. Any suguestions?

What is the end goal for the CC?

Flagship and CSR/CSP differ in overall benefits/rewards. And, if you are saving a "spot" due to the number of CCs you've acquired in the past 24 months, then it would behoove you to determine what is priority from the type of rewards you're looking to maximize the best value.

Looking to start traveling more and uses points vs paying cash. I know the Allied is a cash back card but the 3% for the first year is tempting.

Firstly comparing the two CU's, NFCU has a better SUB @ 50K. So it helps get you a haed start on rewards for tavel. It only has a $49 AF versus $59 on Alliant. Also, is the yearly spnd going to offset the AF? If you're "rebuilding" are AF type CC right for you?

The APR is pretty much identical on both as are the benefits. So thay are fairly close other than the SUB. Which IMO is the right one to go for if you plan to travel more.

Next is the CSP/CSR which have much higher AF's, $95/$550 respectively. But both offer the same 50K SUB. Can you see yourself spending that much just in AF? Some people have success in offsetting it, but CSR is still very high if you're not a big spender.

Personally I like Chase's partners for spending/tranfering points etc. I have no experience with how NFCU rewards work, or who their partners are.

OP what is your new card history to put 5/24 in exact timeframe. When does the oldest new card move past 24 months?

Do you have any other Chase cards now?

What cards and limits do you have?

Isn't the CSR still $450? (With Amex Plat being $550)

I don't have any chace cards however they are my primaary back right now. I was palnning on trying for another card next year around May or June. Right now I have NFCU Cash Rdwards 10K. Discover $600 CL, Greendot $300 CL, and Citi $200 CL (Discover, Greendot, & Citi all secured). Next statment is my 6th at discover and should hopfully start getting reviews to get my deposit back. Citi i have a l have like 15 months before I can graduate. The Greendot I'm planning on canceling in December before the $49.00 anual fee hits in January. My first card in the 5/24 spots was January 2018. So January 2020 I would have another spot open.Then April 2020 and May 2020. If I did the NFCU Flagship or Alliant in May 2019 that would be the main card I would uses until I can have a shot at the CSP/CSR.

If you want to get with Case eventually consider getting the Freedom Unlimited or Freedom now, use that heavily until 2020. Then apply for CSP and in 2021 consider if an upgrade to CSR makes sense or not.

If you go with Flagship now, that is a good choice too, but it pushes your Chase UR opportunity way out, as you know.

If you want to travel, you need to get one of the two Chase Sapphire cards. You would quickly recoup the annual fee and begin earning much more than you would with NFCU Flagship.

Get both the CSP and the Flagship. Both wave the fee the first year. Both come with nice sign up bonuses. Try them for a year and see which one you like best.
