Is it worth it to keep the Chase Hyatt card for the free night alone?

Is this card worth keeping? Yes, I get that it’s easy to break even considering the AF is 75$. My main concern is that there arent many Hyatt’s compared to Marriott/SPG and Hiltons. I think there are a total of like 700+ in the world if I’m not mistaken. I already have the SPG that gives me a free night for 95$ a year. I also primarily stay at Hilton’s and Marriotts.

I have the amazon card which I could move my Hyatt limit over too if I decided to part ways with it.

What are your thoughts?

If you do close it, keep in mind the $75 Hyatt card is closed to new apps. A new app would be for the $95 card only (though it might offer a bonus, depending on when you got your current card).

It is certainly worth it to me. For $75 I can book a local beach place here in the middle of summer that goes for $330 a night. My wife has one too so for $150 we can stay a weekend at the beach. I am not sure why this has anything to do with any of your other cards. There is no rule that states you can't have an SPG/Marriott card and a Hyatt card too. I have 4 SPG Cards and one Marriott card. Plan to keep them all open for the anniversary nights.

If you cant easily make use of the free night then I see no real reason to keep paying for it.

I also parted with my Hyatt card earlier this year when the difference between the AF and the cost of the rooms covered by the anniversary certificate became negligible, at least at the properties that aligned with my travel plans. Obviously, there are probably properties with more favorable redemption values, but I’m not really interested in going out of my way to stay at their (limited) worthwhile locations. IHG and Marriott are a much better fit for me, so I do keep their respective credit cards.

Regardless, I always seem to have an issue at a Hyatt property that I never experience at the other chains, whether it’s dying A/C units, inoperable room access cards/readers, excessively long elevator wait times, or horrendous parking. I certainly haven’t missed Hyatt.

Not often. This year was really my first time staying at one. I've stayed at a Hyatt Place for leisure and a Hyatt House to avoid having to deal with parking at an airport.

I don't think I will neccesarily have trouble redeeming the free night for a profit, It mostly has to do with how scarce Hyatts are in my travel plans. Not to mention, award rooms in hotels seem to fill up very quickly in my limited experience. With that being said, the certificate would likely only be used for airport stays before a flight.

I got this card in April of this year for the SUB mostly which I have yet to fully use (This will certainly get used though). I'm also trying to cut back on cards as I feel I have too many and I feel this card could be a canidate.

Definitely aware of this which also plays a role. 75$ for a hotel that could cost over 200$ is a steal if it is available. I also wouldn't be elgible for another bonus till May 2020.

Hyatt has good hotels, but they don't have very many of them compared to Marriott and Hilton. Don't commit to their rewards program or their credit card unless you think you will be staying at specific Hyatt hotels in the next year or two.

My thoughts exactly. I primarily stay in Marriotts and Hiltons (mostly hiltons). I can justify the free night for marriott considering there are so many of them that it should be easy to get a great value.

Hyatt however would be a different story. Don't get me wrong Hyatt does have some nice hotels its just that they are so scarce. Honestly the only time I stay at an Hyatt affiliated hotel is when I visit Vegas and thats like once a year. I am leaning towards just moving my 7400 limit from hyatt to amazon to get rid of the AF and another card.
