American Express Platinum

I was approved for the Amex Gold in July and the card has been working out beautifully. I am very much infatuated with all of the perks offered by the American Express Platinum. I keep going back in to check on whether or not I am pre-approved for the Amex Platinum however, currently, I have not seen the pre-approval. Should I be overly concerned with that ? Should I wait to see that before applying ?

Doesn't have to be pre-approval offers to get approved. Click on apply button. If you do that and it say "You are pre-approved" then you are pre-appoved for the card. As Amex usually doesn't do a hard pull if you are a current customer if you want the card just apply for it.

Question? With you having all those cards in your sig, do you use them all during the month or do you just have them to just have them?

I'm pretty sure the requirements for the Platinum are the same as the gold or at least not much harder, charge cards are known to be relatively easy to get approved for since they require you to pay in full every month.

Platinum is easier to get, due to the high AF. Amex loves distributing it.

No one really knows when/if the 100k will come around. If you really can benefit from the card then app for it. If you think you can get a better offer that what is currently available then hold out...but waiting for the 100k offer to show up may be very long shot.

Some I use on an almost daily basis--some get rotated out for use at certain times of the year to keep them active. But I try not to carry balances on more than 10-12 at a time for the personal cards-and a lot of those balances are $200 or less. Haven't app-ed for many personal cards over the last 2 years--a lot of them are 3 to 5 years old.

Actually the 100k offer is available right now. Anyone can search for themselves on cardmatch. Uscreditcardguide seems pretty on top of posting when the 100k offer shows up (my mom got it a couple of days ago)

heard it is rather difficult, nearly impossible to pull up the 100K offer if you are already a customer, is that correct?

I dunno, could be. Not sure if it precludes you from the 75k offer though.

The 75k offer can be gotten through incognito mode. Open a browser in incognito mode go to the credit card offer pages. Leave it on the page for 2 hours. Hit refresh and the offer should appear.
