But, how much is considered "heavy spending" for Nordstrom? I do whatever shopping I can within reason at Nordstrom, but have no idea what they consider a lot.

Are we talking 10k a year? 30k?

I shop at Pennys or for me high scale Macys on occasion. I probably couldn't even afford a pair of socks from Nordies

I would guess more than 10k probably around 15-20k+ a year as believe their best tier prior although someone feel free to correct me was to spend 10k to have their best tier and it appears this is a new tier so I would guess the requirements have gone up?

Nordstrom rack is great

10k a year is only 1k a month. If you have a big family, that's doable. You could also buy/resell, buy for friends and have them give cash.

@FinStar @CreditCuriosity, Im already a level 4 cardholder (which is their current top level). Im hoping that they send me an invite to this one!

Interesting. It looks like Club Nordy is their new/updated Nordstrom Rewards system.

Beginning in October:

Level 1 is now "Insider"

Level 2 is now "Influencer"

Level 3 is now "Ambassador"

Level 4 is now "Icon"

Reading through everything it looks like existing cardmembers will be automatically changed into the new Nordy Club rewards. The biggest changes that I can see, for Level 3 and below, is that now instead of 2 points for Nordstrom purchases it will now be 3. Also, 2 points will now be given for non-Nordstrom purchases that are the travel/entertainment category.

Not surprising given that retail in the US is on the decline. Macy's updated their rewards over a year ago so it makes sense that Nordstrom would step up their game.

I am perennially at Level 1 (Insider) so I am hoping that ugly, vertical card is only for the Level 4 (Icon) folks. My Nordstrom Visa expires next year and I'd like a normal looking, horizontal-numbers-on-front-and-embossed card, please. Would have been cool if they could have issued Icon as a Visa Infinite.

Thanks for the heads up, Pizza. Finally something interesting around the forums. I have not received anything in the mail yet regarding Club Nordy though...seems they should have sent that by now.

To receive Icon status, you have to spend a minimum of $15k on (net purchases) annually, at a Nordstrom store location using a Nordstrom CC (store card or Visa issue).

Currently, their level 4 cardholders must spend $10k or more on Nordstrom purchases in a year. So, that just got bumped up an extra $5k.

?? actually its $833.33 a month, but close enough. Icon status will now be $15k a year.

Ambassador level is $5k-$14,999k in net Nordstrom purchases a year. Icon is $15k. So, some folks might either be bumped up or down depending on their spend. I think Ill be bumped down to Ambassador level.

I got my card in Jan. They gave me an auto cli in May/June. I asked my 7 month increase in August. I upgraded to the Visa last week. I probably won’t hit it this year......but next year is promising 😂

@pizza1 did you ask for the tier change or did they offer it?

@Anonymous, no, this was an email I received this morning letting me know the upcoming new rewards program and changes. I just stumbled onto the "Icon status" , lol.

@Anonymous, they offered at it the same time I was upgraded from store card to Visa Siggy awhile back. All in the same phone call...

They didn’t offer it to me. I feel cheated 😂 (even though I don’t carry a balance with them).

I’ll give them a few months and then I’ll call and ask.
